Hey everyone,

I recently completed my short film called "Buckle Down, Pants Off".

You can watch a 1-minute trailer here:

And watch the full, roughly 10-minute film here:

You can read a little blurb about the making of the film on the website as well:
http://www.marsonmars.com

It was made for $0, with a crew of two, partially improvised with non-professional actors and shot with a Canon t2i.

Let me know what you think!

This short worked for me. It had to be carried by the acting of the two leads and they made it work. The dialog was mostly realistic and any improvs were seemless. I'm curious how much dialog was improved.

From a technical perspective I think more music would have made the scene transition work better and in a party setting with everyone standing up I would think there would be more music (but I haven't been to that kind of party in quite a while so what do I know?)

I was also a little confused about where Anthony was at the beginning of the film. It looks like he was in a park or some kind of public place, but the dialog suggested he was right outside the party.

It was enjoyable. I like that the film made its point and that was it. It didn't try to do too much.

thanks for watching it, appreciate the comments as well.

The dialogue was almost entirely improv-ed, but the ideas and topics of discussion were almost all pre-written.

I tried putting music in while editing and it just made the cuts more jarring really. There's some score at the beginning and end of the film, I thought that adding more in the middle might be overdoing it.

There was scene that I cut that established that "stonehenge"/Anthony was across the street from the house, but I had to cut it for some other reasons.

Glad you liked it, we were definitely going for a minimalist/slice of life vibe so I'm glad that some people are getting it.
