Are you looking for a way to self-distribute your video to a wide audience, with none of the headaches of disc production and shipping?  You just found it!  At Film Rogue you can make your film available for digital download in a variety of formats, and you set your own price.  It's the way distribution should be!

Here's how it works.  You send your DVD to Film Rogue at the address below, and if it's approved for sale it will be converted and placed on our servers.  We contact you to find out some basic information about your film, how much you'd like to sell your film for, and what kind of options you'd like to provide your customers.  If approved the basic DVD hosting carries no setup fees, no submission fees - it's totally free to be listed.  You just set your price and each month we will send you a sales report, at which point we will deposit the profit from your sales into your Paypal account.  Easy!  If you ever would like to stop selling your film with us, just drop us a line and we'll take care of it for you.

Optionally we can also create iPod and other video formats, each sellable with a price point you choose, and for a one-time fee we can even set you up with a Film Rogue subdomain that points directly to your film's product page.  The next time a festival viewer asks if your movie is for sale, just send them to YourMovie.filmrogue.com and they can download an instant copy to keep.

Our current payout to film producers is 70%, so when you sell your movie for $2.99 you keep $2.09!  Compare that to conventional distribution arrangements that pay as little as 10%.  If you sell fifty copies in a month at this rate you will receive $104.65, simply by having your film hosted with us.  No shipping, no overhead, just revenue.  And your percentage will never change once you set your price.

** To ensure bandwidth costs are covered we reserve the right to state a minimum sale price for larger files, typically at least $1.99 for a feature.

Optional Services

Basic DVD resolution encoding is included for free, however we offer the following add-ons for a nominal cost to help boost your sales.  The proceeds from these add-ons is used to operate this website and keep payouts to our producers high.  Simply e-mail us to request any of these services.

• iPod / Mobile Device Encoding - $2 per additional format, one time cost upon approval of film for sale.
• YourMovie.filmrogue.com subdomain that directs to your movie - $4, one time cost, effective for the duration of your movie on our server.
• Encoding all currently available formats PLUS subdomain redirect - $5, one time cost.  (Selling three copies is usually all it takes to cover these costs.)
• Priority Buy Now ad trailer (FLV video) on our homepage for two weeks - $5, one time cost.  (Space is limited, first come first serve.)

Encoding requests must be made when your movie is initially approved for sale, subdomains and trailer placement can be ordered anytime.

Film Requirements and Conditions of Sale

To ensure the protection of copyrighted materials, ourselves as a vendor and yourself as a producer, the following requirements and conditions must be accepted for a film to be sold on Film Rogue.

• You must hold the exclusive rights to digitally distribute the film your are submitting.
• The content of your film must be free and clear of any third-party trademarks to which you do not have permission to use.
• Your film cannot contain any material that infringes on the rights of any third party, such as protected music, sounds or images.
• Film Rogue does not distribute pornographic films.  All films chosen for sale will not have it's content censored or edited.
• Film Rogue reserves the right to deny or remove any title for sale, before or after initial approval, at the site's discretion.
• Film Rogue keeps all entered media, we do not return shipped copies regardless of approval status.
• You are responsible for any and all complaints made against your film, legal or otherwise.
• By selling on Film Rogue you're authorizing us to act as a digital delivery service on your behalf and grant us a non-exclusive license to distribute your media.
• You may withdraw this license at any time by providing us fourteen days written notice.  (We can usually have it down in 24 hours for you.)
